My yoga teacher Donna told me about this story this morning and it is one of the most amazing things I’ve seen this year.
Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor woke up one morning in 1996 and experienced a massive stroke in the left side of her brain. In this talk on TED she describes what she was going through moment by moment as her left brain functions shut down.
I think this one is definitely gotta be posted under Adventure and Life
I loved the video by Jill Bolte Taylor on TED. To Adventure and Life for sure!
Also, did you see Dr Taylor’s interviews with Oprah on Soul Series – wonderful!
Best of all is her book MY STROKE OF INSIGHT – I’ve read it twice already. Second time better than the first
Dr. Taylor is a great inspiration. The lessons in the book are life-changing…very simple yet very powerful.

Sandy, Thanks so much for the comment and the links. The book has been on my summer reading list. I did not know about the Oprah video. Of course I supposed that’s almost a no brainer (no pun intended). Oprah seems to really have the pulse about what’s interesting in the world. Particularly when it comes to women.
