The Playa Rocks this week. Burning Man 2008
Burning Man began this week, and it is another year that I've been unable to "go home." Last year I was working on Loss of a Teardrop Diamond
and this year things just sort of happened

My friends are out there in the heat and dust of the playa. They'll all have wonderful stories to tell next week after the burn, after coming back to the mundane life of civilization. Last year I missed the burial burning of my good friend Matt Welty who had passed away earlier in the year. Known as Ranger Elvis on the playa Matt introduced me to Burning Man, and invited me out to experience a community based upon the ideas of extreme self expression
and leave no trace
It will be a rowdy week for all the burners. I'm not there, but thanks to The Burning Blog I'll be able to keep up with events as the week progresses.
Now I'm planning for next year.
