A Journey Ends, and A Journey Begins.

Twenty days ago on, January 2nd, I loaded up my battered up Mitsubishi Montero, said goodbye to my cousin Michael, and drove off into the sunset to a new life in a place over the hills and far away. That place is Bend, Oregon.

It’s been quite a journey traveling to Bend. There was exhilaration. There was stress and anxiety. There were some obstacles. I was anxious on this trip to arrive in Bend quickly so I could get on with finding a place to live and finding some clients to get my business going. I also wanted to visit friends along the way, friends who have become important to me over the years. At times I wanted to stay and visit a bit longer. Ultimately everything worked out and I rolled into Bend on the afternoon of January 19 2009.

This road trip to Bend finished off beautifully. I had planned on driving 3180 miles along the way here. The actual mileage turned out to be 3159 miles. The Montero’s performance was better than expected at just over 19 MPG and my total fuel cost was $302.43 just $0.45 over budget.

Now it is time to find a place to live here in Bend.
